Too fast between instructions for me

I find that the instructions come too fast, before i have had a chance to process them. For example, the instruction feel your body float is followed too quickly by the next instruction and i feel like i cant keep up.

In person on podcasts Dr S gives his subjects a bit more time.

Does anyone else experience this? I get it that the app is trying to deliver a quick hit and run vibe so it seems doable and accessable.

I would love some longer pauses between instructions for myself and hope that i am not the only one.

Any suggestions on how to get more out of it in the present state of the exercises would be great.

Thank you!

Agreed. It would be good if the pace was a bit slower. An option, like podcasts, to modify the speed would be great.

I did reach out directly and i will paste the reply below. I have decided to just press on and rely on my mind to pick up what it can. I am listening the eat intuitively a few times a day now and to my surprise, i feel like its working.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Dr. Spiegel reviewed this feedback, and this was his response:

The essence of hypnosis is to experience a change in mental state and approach to a problem rather than to analyze and understand it. So grab what you can and don’t worry about missing parts of it, as you may benefit from experiences you don’t fully understand.

Your mind is capable of visualizing what is being suggested instantaneously, but sometimes the conscious mind gets in the way, casts doubt, and makes you feel like you need more time. It can take some practice to turn the volume of your conscious mind down while doing hypnosis exercises, but it gets easier and more automatic the more you do it. We encourage you to keep practicing regularly and see if you notice improvements.

Additionally, we’d love to invite you to ask us questions along the way. We are always here to help.

Seems a slightly generic reply. Akin to cold reading (giving information that applies to everyone).
Similar to “is your hand raised”? “No”
“Well it might need some help, next do….”

Real hypnotic inductions are often much longer. The hand raise only works on highly susceptible people. Or someone you have worked with for several weeks already

Really appreciate everyone’s comments about the recordings move too fast. I’ve seen this “goes too fast” theme in multiple comment threads and on reviews elsewhere. This indicates the company has an issue and needs to slow dow the recordings.

I’ve purchased hypnosis recordings from quite a few hypnotists and have used various apps. I’ve always had to ask for a refund when they go fast. Most of us can’t relax and get hypnotized that fast.

They can go too slow too which will put you to sleep quickly.

Thanks everyone!
